Mr. Pless runs the zoo where Siena (George's girlfriend) works.
After and incident with Kramer, Barry (the chimpanzee) is not functioning the way he normally does. He seems depressed. He's lost his appetite. He's even curtailed his autoerotic activities.
Mr. Pless thinks Barry's change of behaviour is directly related to the altercation the monkey had with Kramer, and asks Kramer to apologize with Barry.
