Pop Lazzari is the mentally unstable father of Deena Lazzari, a childhood friend of George Costanza.
Pop had a nervous breakdown and can't run the auto shop anymore. When George arrives in the neighborhood in his 89 LeBaron, Pop wants to see the engine, opens the hood and bangs and clanks as he fiddles with the mechanics.
Later, the car catches fire.
