Mr. Armstrong is an aristocrat interested in art. He particularly likes Nina painting, but he's not sure about buying the Kramer.
While his wife (Mrs. Armstrong) experiences a sense great vulnerability, and sees in the picture a land child crying out for love, an innocent orphan in the post-modern world, a sexually-depraved miscrient, who is seeking to gratify only his most basic and immediate urges, Mr. Armstrong sees just «a parasite».
For Mrs. Armstrong, the man in the picture is struggled, a man-struggled, although he lifts her spirit. Instead, for her husband he is a loathsome, offensive brute, yet he can't look away.
