Mr. Pitt is one of the Elaine's bosses. The two met at Doubleday, when Elaine was interviewed by Jocelyn Landis for the job that supposedly left Jackie Onassis. As Elaine didn't get the job, Mr. Pitt, a Doubleday executive, hires her as his personal assistant.
